Job summary

Baker Donelson is seeking a Billing Manager in Charleston to lead the Billing Team and oversee all phases of client invoicing, from prebill through posting. The role requires ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and exceptional service while collaborating with attorneys and departments to optimize revenue cycle performance.

Reporting to the Director of Revenue Services, you will mentor staff, manage workflows, and drive process improvements in a fast-paced legal environment.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of billing functions and legal billing cycles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly proficient in Excel.
• Experience with Aderant and Prebill Viewer.
• Previous law firm billing management experience.
• Detail oriented and able to multitask.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Motivate, mentor, and lead the Billing team with controls for quality and integrity.
• Monitor workload distribution and identify efficiency improvements in billing/collections.
• Maintain knowledge of all billing functions for training and backup support.
• Oversee all Billing Department functions and ensure timely, accurate work.
• Monitor actual billings against budgets and liaise with Revenue Managers.
• Conduct group and individual training for billing software users.
• Update billing training materials and presentations.
• Lead the Billing team toward operational excellence and service quality.
• Prepare reports and analyses of billing statistics.
