Qualifications

• Education required: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: One year or more professional work experience; two years in a medical office and one year of collections preferred.
• Knowledge of billing processes and patient account workflows.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance coverage and obtain authorizations/pre-certifications for all scheduled appointments.
• Generate insurance verification and precertification reports as requested.
• Contact insurance companies for patient benefits and precertification requirements.
• Research and resolve patient billing inquiries using Passport, Artiva, Onbase and Host.
• Assist with patient payment arrangements and charity applications.
• Maintain accurate logs of calls and update patient billing records.
• Support front desk with point-of-service collections when applicable.
