Job summary

United Surgical Partners International is seeking a Customer Service Specialist for the North OKC Medical Billing Office to handle patient support within the Central Billing Office and liaison between patients, the CBO and clients. Monday–Friday shift, no weekends or major holidays, with responsibility for HIPAA-compliant communication and accurate data handling.

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of third party payor contracts and processes.
• Ability to analyze EOBs and explain balances to patients.
• Understanding charity guidelines and screening for charity.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with interruptions.
• HIPAA-compliant communication in all interactions.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-related support for the Central Billing Office.
• Handle patient calls and resolve questions and complaints.
• Explain claim status and balances due to patients.
• Process charity screening and charity applications when eligible.
• Update demographic and insurance data; retrieve paperwork from systems (OnBase, EMR).
• Accept payments by phone and route for processing.
• Maintain professional relationships with patients, physicians, staff and clients.
• Follow HIPAA guidelines in all communications.
