Job summary

WSP is seeking an Experienced Professional, Billing to support one or more districts and lead day-to-day billing operations with minimal supervision. The role oversees workload allocation, develops complex client billing requirements, maintains accurate data in Oracle, and partners with Project Accountants to deliver compliant, client-ready invoices on schedule.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
3–5 years of relevant professional experience.
Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Working knowledge of accounting principles, project accounting, and invoicing.
Experience using accounting software and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Supervise, train, coach, and manage the performance of billing staff with support from the Billing Manager.
Coordinate with Project Accountants to assign billers for new client contracts.
Oversee and balance assigned billing workloads and regional activities, ensuring adherence to schedules and deadlines.
Identify team training needs and develop, deliver, or coordinate appropriate training.
Resolve billing issues within the role's scope and elevate matters to the Billing Manager as appropriate.
Identify client billing processes suitable for automated invoicing and support their development and implementation.
Develop billing templates and document requirements for the largest and most complex contracts; review templates delegated to other staff.
Produce and maintain invoice billing requirements for complex contracts.
Produce or oversee client-ready invoices in Oracle, partnering with Project Accountants to develop client-specific formats and ensure compliance with contract terms.
