Responsibilities

Job Description

WSP is seeking an Experienced Professional, Billing to support one or more districts and lead day-to-day billing operations with minimal supervision. This role oversees workload allocation, develops complex client billing requirements, maintains accurate data in Oracle, and partners with Project Accountants to deliver compliant, client-ready invoices on schedule. The successful candidate will also supervise, train, and manage the performance of billing staff while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and expand invoice automation.

Your Impact

• Supervise, train, coach, and manage the performance of billing staff with support from the Billing Manager.


• Coordinate with Project Accountants to assign billers for new client contracts.


• Oversee and balance assigned billing workloads and regional activities, ensuring adherence to corporate accounting schedules and deadlines.


• Identify team training needs and develop, deliver, or coordinate appropriate training.


• Resolve billing issues within the role's scope and escalation matters to the Billing Manager as appropriate.


• Identify client billing processes suitable for automated invoicing and support their development and implementation.


• Develop billing templates and document requirements for the largest and most complex contracts; review templates delegated to other staff.


• Produce and maintain invoice billing requirements for complex contracts.


• Produce or oversee client-ready invoices in Oracle, partnering with Project Accountants to develop client-specific formats and ensure compliance with contract terms.


• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs and consistent with the role's capabilities.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience in a related field.


• 3-5 years of relevant professional experience.


• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.


• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.


• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.


• Working knowledge of accounting principles, project accounting, and invoicing.


• Experience using accounting software and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience using Oracle.
