Job summary

Southland Industries is hiring for a Billing Specialist to ensure accurate billing and timely invoicing. You will set up customer accounts, collect records, prepare invoices, and monitor payments while supporting collections when needed.

The role requires 2 years of billing experience, strong MS Office skills, and excellent communication. We value accuracy, organization, and confidentiality in handling sensitive billing information.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years of billing or directly related experience.
• Working knowledge of MS Office and Billing/Financial software.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy.
• Understanding of billing and invoicing process.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with customers.

Responsibilities

• Set up new customer accounts and maintain accurate customer information for Accounts Receivable/Payable.
• Collect and compile customer billing records (work orders, tickets, time sheets) and enter data into the database; ensure accuracy of billing information and negotiated terms.
• Prepare and distribute invoices to customers on time with complete service details and amounts due.
• Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payments and report overdue balances.
• Assist with collections by contacting customers by phone, email, or written correspondence as needed.
• Generate credit memorandums for incorrectly billed services and maintain confidentiality of costing/billing information.
