Florida Department of Health in Hernando County seeks a Fiscal Assistant I to handle billing and deposits in Spring Hill and Brooksville. The role processes Medicaid/Medicare and third-party claims, posts payments, loads deposits into FLAIR/FLPALM, and ensures timely documentation.

You will review CPT/ICD codes, coordinate with clerks and providers, maintain claim tracking, and participate in trainings. This is a full-time, on-site position with state benefits.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of FLAIR/FLPALM and HMS codes.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
• Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to analyze and interpret accounting data.
• Ability to prepare financial statements and reports.
• Ability to reconcile balance sheet accounts.

Responsabilités

• Handle medical and dental billings for Medicaid, Medicare and third-party payers.
• Post payments to medical and dental accounts and load deposits into FLAIR/FLPALM.
• Review CPT/ICD codes for billing accuracy and HMS Codes.
• Process Medicaid, Medicare and other insurance claims and resubmit as needed.
• Maintain tracking system to ensure timely payments and keep records.
• Serve as key holder for receiving room and handle mail distribution.
• Attend meetings and mandatory trainings.
