Job summary

Veolia North America is seeking a detail-oriented customer service clerk to handle inquiries, payments, and account setup in a fast-paced environment. The role supports billing operations and data integrity across multiple systems.

The candidate should have a High School diploma, strong English communication, and proficient MS Word/Excel skills. Office-based role with potential shifts and occasional plant-area visits to support field crews.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year internal or related experience with basic knowledge of departmental function and terminology.
• Must demonstrate ability to read, write and comprehend English.
• Accurate typing speed of 50 words per minute and strong MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Answer telephone calls and/or email regarding service, operation or maintenance.
• Receive payments and post to the proper account.
• Process utility billing department requests and adjust meter readings or billing errors as needed.
• Set up new customer accounts and process final bill refunds and transfers.
• Enter service-related work orders and explain procedures for starting service.
