Job summary

HOK is seeking a Billing Assistant in San Francisco to join the Accounting team in a hybrid role, with on-site presence three days weekly. You will assist with monthly client billings, maintain project financial data, and ensure accurate billing aligned with client contracts.

Strong Excel and communication skills are essential for collaborating with Project Accountants and Managers. Requirements include a high school diploma and experience in accounting/billing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior accounting, billing, accounts payable, or financial administrative experience preferred.
• Experience in professional services environment such as architecture/engineering/construction preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel required.
• Experience with accounting or project accounting software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Accountants with monthly client billings.
• Organize and maintain project financial data in the accounting system.
• Match accounting data with billing backup materials.
• Modify billing information to align with client contracts and invoicing standards.
• Respond to inquiries from staff, vendors, and clients and communicate financial information to Project Managers.
• Process invoices and vouchers and provide accounts payable support.
• Maintain billing records in imaging/document management systems.
• Support Accounting with administrative and financial tasks.
