Job summary

Deepgram is seeking a Billing & Analytics Engineer to own the end-to-end billing pipeline and related analytics within the Console. You will transform raw API usage into invoices, revenue-grade analytics, and a self-service billing experience for customers.

You will build the data and integrations across usage metering, invoicing, CRM, and revenue recognition, driving accuracy, security, and scalability in a high-growth SaaS environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building and operating billing, payments, metering, or financial data systems in SaaS or usage-based pricing.
• Backend systems using Rust or similar languages with strong service orientation.
• Deep experience with relational databases and data pipeline design, including schema modeling and high-volume processing.
• Hands-on experience integrating with billing or subscription platforms (Stripe, M3ter, Metronome, Chargebee, Zuora) and CRM systems (Salesforce).
• Understanding of usage-based pricing, metering patterns, and edge cases (proration, overages, commitments, credits).
• Experience building reconciliation and data-integrity systems to ensure financial accuracy at scale.

Responsibilities

• Usage Metering & Event Processing: Design and maintain elastic pipelines for ingestion, validation, and processing of usage messages with sub-second reliability.
• Usage Aggregation & Summarization: Build aggregation layers to produce per-customer, per-product, time-window summaries for real-time dashboards and billing runs.
• Billing System Integration: Own integration with billing platforms; implement rating, plan management, invoice generation, and edge-case handling.
• CRM & RevOps Integration: Create and maintain Salesforce and RevOps integrations to synchronize accounts, entitlements, and billing status.
• Console Billing Experience: Develop customer-facing billing views, dashboards, and self-service flows for upgrades and payment methods.
• In-DC Access & Token Management: Manage API keys, tokens, access controls, entitlement enforcement across billing surfaces.
• Analytics & Reporting: Build internal pipelines and dashboards for usage trends, revenue metrics, and anomaly alerting.
• Data Reconciliation: Implement automated reconciliation between usage events, summaries, billing records, and payments.
