Job summary

Glean, Mountain View, CA, is seeking a lead software engineer for the billing and revenue platform powering its consumption‑based pricing. You will own critical parts of the billing stack end to end and collaborate with Product, Finance, Data, and GTM to ensure accurate metering, transparent billing, and positive margins.

You’ll design abstractions that make it easy for product teams to integrate with billing—from logging usage to surfacing billing insights in the admin console.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of industry software engineering experience.
• Experience building platforms and web interfaces, including frontend, APIs, and backend services.
• Meaningful experience with billing, payments, pricing, or other revenue‑critical systems.
• Strong ability to drive technical direction and align cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Owner mindset and product‑focused approach with customer impact.
• Expertise in Golang, Java, TypeScript, SQL is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement systems for usage metering, pricing logic, credits, and admin‑facing dashboards.
• Provide technical leadership across a broad billing surface area including data pipelines, backend services, and web UX.
• Evolve the consumption / Flex pricing infrastructure with a focus on correctness and reliability.
• Partner with Finance, Pricing, RevOps, and Product to translate pricing strategy into robust designs.
• Define guardrails for LLM and agent costs to enable safe shipping of AI features.
• Raise engineering quality through design reviews, code reviews, and mentoring.
