Job summary

Harris County is seeking a Voter Registration Representative I to perform routine tasks in voter registration and elections, including data entry, research, proofreading, and signature verification. The role requires bilingual ability (English and Chinese) to field calls and provide accurate information.

You will maintain records, assess eligibility, respond to inquiries about voting centers and hours, and protect confidential voter information in a fast-paced office environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year clerical office experience.
• Minimum of 2 years customer service experience.
• Typing speed of 35 wpm minimum.

Responsibilities

• Maintain up-to-date records of voter information in the system confidentially.
• Assess voter eligibility based on citizenship, age, and residency requirements.
• Answer calls in English and Chinese about elections and registration.
• Provide accurate information about voting centers and hours.
• Decide follow-up actions such as sending forms or updates.
• Safeguard sensitive voter information per privacy regulations.
• Prioritize daily tasks and assist where needed.
• Address complex voter registration issues or errors.
• Jury reports, DPS Que, TXOL, and Felons.
