Job summary

Hope Services Counseling Center in Silicon Valley is hiring Therapetic Behavioral Specialists for a full-time, fully benefited role working with children and young adults (5-21) with developmental disabilities and mental health needs under the TBS program.

You will join a multi-disciplinary team, provide home and community-based assessment and behavioral interventions, and help with documentation, advocacy, and case coordination in a community setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or equivalent as approved by SCCMH.
• Ability to understand and relate to children with disabilities and mental health challenges.
• Knowledge of handling aggressive/assaultive behaviors.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families and staff.
• Observation, evaluation, and documentation of client performance and behavior.
• Flexible, organized, and capable of prioritizing tasks in a consumer-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 assessment, training and follow-up in home and community.
• Implement positive behavior programs for clients in the community.
• Ensure safety and confidentiality standards.
• Maintain client records and required documentation.
• Perform behavioral interventions as prescribed.
• Document client progress and perform quality control.
• Coordinate transportation and prepare necessary reports and documentation.
• Maintain professional relationships with consumers, families and care providers.
• Advocate for clients and provide intervention when needed.
• Report any abuse as required.
• Perform additional duties to ensure program efficiency.
