Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required and valid Texas teaching certificate for subject/level assigned.
• Completion of Texas Reading Academy required for Elementary assignments.
• ESL Supplemental Certification preferred for diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement plans for the curriculum program assigned and show written evidence of preparation as required.
• Present the subject matter according to guidelines established by TEA, board policies, and administrative regulations.
• Use data to plan and implement instructional strategies reflecting individual student needs (gifted, bilingual/ESL, 504, etc.).
• Modify curricula with special education staff according to IEP guidelines.
• Plan and supervise assignments for teacher aides/volunteers in the classroom.
• Use technology to strengthen and enhance teaching and learning.
