Job summary

Bethany Christian Services is seeking a qualified Teacher in Atlanta, GA to plan and deliver engaging lessons, monitor student progress, and maintain classroom records. The role requires bilingual English/Spanish communication, ESL/TEFL certification, and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Responsibilities include curriculum planning, collaborating with case managers and staff, and supporting refugees with educational services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s level degree in a related field of study from an accredited college.
• Active ESL/TEFL certification or equivalent and additional program-specific training.
• At least two years of experience in a similar role.
• CPR, First Aid, and AEC certification upon hire or within 60 days.
• Bi-lingual English and Spanish.
• Excellent oral and written communication in English and Spanish.
• Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to teach English and basic educational topics.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
• Plan, schedule, and facilitate educational curriculum in compliance with federal, state, and agency requirements.
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Prepare classroom for class activities.
• Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
• Utilize technology to support and differentiate instruction.
• Maintain accurate records of students’ progress and development.
• Observe and evaluate students’ performance, behavior, social development, and health.
