Job summary

Bethany Christian Services is seeking a Teacher to work onsite with refugee and immigrant students, guiding them through English language development and core academics. The role emphasizes faith-based values, collaboration with case managers, and adherence to program requirements.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree, ESL/TESOL certification, at least two years of relevant experience, and bilingual English and Spanish skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college.
• Active ESL/TESOL certification or equivalent and training for special needs.
• At least two years of experience in a similar role.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certification by hire or within 60 days.
• Bi-lingual English and Spanish with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work with diverse cultural and economic backgrounds.
• Experience teaching English and basic educational topics.
• Flexible and creative in a diverse work setting.
• Attention to detail and highly organized.
• Strong interpersonal skills and self-motivation.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials.
• Plan and facilitate curriculum in compliance with requirements.
• Instruct and monitor students using learning materials and equipment.
• Establish clear objectives for all activities and prepare the classroom.
• Provide varied learning materials and resources for instruction.
• Utilize technology to support differentiated instruction.
• Maintain appropriate discipline and accurate progress records.
• Communicate progress and needs with case manager and foster parents.
• Participate in school activities and meetings as required.
