New York Health (NYH) is seeking a healthcare scheduling coordinator to manage office and hospital procedures. You will work with physicians to coordinate schedules, obtain authorizations, and ensure all necessary clearances and documentation are in place.

The role requires strong customer service, organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus, and prior insurance/authorization experience is beneficial.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s preferred.
  • 1–3 years in healthcare scheduling or equivalent.
  • Medical Assistant certification is a plus.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English a plus.
  • Insurance/authorization experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule office and/or hospital procedures per physician.
  • Respond to scheduling changes/cancellations promptly.
  • Be organized and manage demanding workload with accuracy.
  • Work independently and in a team environment; coordinate with scheduling.
  • Obtain and monitor authorizations for procedures.
  • Compile physician schedules and coordinate resources (anesthesia, radiology, equipment).
  • Ensure proper clearances; work with EMR; maintain relationships with surgical facilities.
  • Collect CPT and ICD coding.
  • Other duties as assigned.
