Job summary

The Arc Prince George’s County is hiring an Employment Specialist to support individuals in community-based job settings by providing job training, placement support, and coordination with employers across healthcare, education, retail, and public service sectors.

You will maintain records, assist with PCPs, and help negotiate terms while ensuring compliance and person-centered planning. Evening/ weekend support may be required.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College or University is preferred.
• Minimum two years of experience in community-based job placement or related field.
• Experience supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities is a plus.
• Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive a personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Teach job-seeking, resume, interview, and retention skills.
• Provide direct support contacts and community-based job trials.
• Maintain employment records in electronic systems.
• Develop employment opportunities based on individual interests and needs.
• Market to employers and develop new job placement opportunities.
• Coordinate PCP meetings and implement PCP progress.
