The Houston Area Women’s Center is seeking a Bilingual Residential Advocate to supervise safety and security at the Flagship Campus in Houston, TX. You will assist clients with crisis intervention, provide referrals, monitor entrances, and route calls to appropriate staff.

This full-time on-site role requires a High School diploma, bilingual Spanish-English fluency, and strong communication, organization, and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of one year experience in customer service or nonprofit setting.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English (read, speak, and write fluently).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Teams, Outlook).
• Valid Texas driver's license with reliable transportation.

Responsabilités

• Monitor security systems for unusual activity and shelter access for clients, staff and volunteers.
• Manage access cards for clients, staff, and visitors using EMERGE program.
• Perform shelter operations, including providing access cards and Daily Activity reports.
• Enforce residential guidelines.
• Provide crisis intervention and information/referrals to clients.
• Provide administrative support to staff, including relay of messages and resource referrals.
• Assist in conflict resolution to promote respectful communication and problem-solving.
• Ensure security and safety of the Flagship Campus and residents during crises.
• Answer and route incoming calls.
• Collaborate with Residential Mentors, Case Managers, and Hotline Advocates to support clients.
• Other duties/projects may be assigned.
