Job summary

Houston Area Women's Center is seeking a Bilingual Residential Children and Youth Enrichment Specialist to develop, implement, and coordinate enrichment activities for child survivors at our Flagship Campus. This full-time, onsite position requires English/Spanish fluency, related education or experience, a valid Texas driver’s license, CPR/First Aid, and the ability to travel to off-site locations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with an additional 2 years of experience in lieu of degree.
• Associate’s Degree in Education, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, Criminal Justice, or similar social science plus relevant experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
• Bilingual in English and Spanish, reading, speaking and writing fluently in both languages.
• Valid Texas driver’s license with good driving record; ability to travel to off-site locations using personal transportation.
• Current First Aid- CPR certification required.
• Childhood Development Certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement after-school and summer curricula for children, including safety, conflict resolution, and coping skills.
• Plan, coordinate and maintain activities and events, including field trips and literacy initiatives.
• Teach age-appropriate personal development, safety, violence prevention, and empowerment concepts.
• Model non-violent discipline and conflict resolution for clients and their children.
• Maintain relationships with community partners for enrichment services.
• Provide services from a feminist perspective and maintain confidentiality and ethical records.
• Maintain accurate records and monitor outcomes to inform program planning.
• Complete Parent/Child Orientation and other duties as assigned.
