Job summary

The City of Escondido seeks a dynamic Recreation Leader II to staff the Park Avenue Community Center, delivering superb customer service at the front counter and assisting with daily operations. The role requires availability on weekdays from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and weekends as needed (8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.).

Ideal candidates are bilingual (English/Spanish), energetic, organized, and capable of multi‑tasking while using Microsoft Office and coordinating with City staff and volunteers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• First Aid and CPR certification within 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers at front counter, including activity registration, payments, and general office duties.
• Answer phones and emails and provide information on community programs.
• Monitor facility activities to ensure safety and security.
• Provide excellent customer service and handle emergencies or incidents as needed.
