The City of El Segundo is seeking a part-time Senior Recreation Leader (non-benefited) to support a variety of recreation programs, with emphasis on youth basketball and front desk duties. This at-will position is ideal for enthusiastic, dependable individuals who enjoy serving the community.
You will coordinate and conduct programs across youth and adult sports, after-school and camp activities, aquatics, and special events.
The City of El Segundo is currently seeking (9) part-time position, non-benefited, enthusiastic, and dependable Senior Recreation Leader to support a variety of recreation programs and activities. We are especially interested in candidates with experience or an interest in youth basketball and front desk. Come help us create fun, engaging, and positive experiences for our community.
To coordinate, organize, and conduct a variety of recreation, cultural, and community programs for participants in support of one or more of the following areas adult and youth sports, after school and camp programs and aquatics, special events, contract classes, senior services, and recreational facilities maintenance and operations. This is a part-time, at-will position exempt from the classified service.

A combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and skills may be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and skills would be
Two (2) years of work experience in recreation, childcare, facilities set-up and operations, working with seniors, coaching or playing a sport, and/or volunteer work is required. Experience working in municipal recreation is desirable.
Equivalent to completion of high school. Completion of some college coursework is desirable
Within six months of hire, obtain First Aid, CPR and AED Certification through American Red Cross.
Due to the performance of some field duties which requires the operation of a personal or City vehicle, valid and appropriate California driver's license and acceptable driving record are required.
Regularly exposed to weather conditions.
Regularly required to lift and/or carry heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
In accordance with Government Code Section 3100, City of El Segundo employees in the event of a disaster, are considered disaster service workers and may be asked to respond accordingly.
