Job summary

The City of Escondido is seeking a dynamic Recreation Leader II to join the Park Avenue Community Center team. The role focuses on front counter service, registration, payments, and daily center operations, with an emphasis on delivering friendly and helpful public service to seniors and the broader community.

The ideal candidate is bilingual (English/Spanish), energetic, organized, and able to work weekdays 4:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• Bilingual English/Spanish required.
• Strong customer service skills with public interaction.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• High school diploma or equivalent with First Aid/CPR within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist front counter operations: activity registration, phones/emails, payments, and room/auditorium setups.
• Support City staff and public with information on community programs.
• Monitor facility activities for safety and security; handle emergencies as needed.
• Promote programs and events to customers; perform general office duties.
