Job summary

State of Oregon's Department of Human Services seeks an entry-level Public Benefits Specialist to assist customers in North Bend. The role requires bilingual English/Spanish proficiency and involves processing applications for medical, food, cash, and childcare programs in a fast-paced, in-person/offsite setting.

You will greet clients, collect information, and guide them to appropriate services while supporting office operations and ensuring accuracy using multiple computer systems.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a reception area or call center handling high volume customer service.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish required; proficiency tested.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Associate degree in Behavioral/Social Science or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for customers entering the office or by phone.
• Assist customers applying for medical, cash, SNAP, childcare, and related services.
• Obtain initial information, provide status updates, and direct to resources.
• Support day-to-day office operations and collaborate with a diverse team.
