Job summary

The Oregon Department of Human Services is actively hiring a Customer Service Guide (Public Benefits Specialist – Entry), in St. Helens. This role supports Self-Sufficiency programs and helps Oregonians access vital services in person, by phone or email.

We seek candidates with strong customer service in a front desk setting, and the ability to explain programs, policies, and procedures, while collaborating in a team and meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in reception or call center with high volume and data entry.
• Associate degree as described or six months of related experience.
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact in field offices and welcome families.
• Support day-to-day office operations.
• Assist Oregonians in person, by phone or email, using the Oregon Eligibility system.
• Assist with a trauma-informed approach.
• May handle financial duties and track/issue financial actions.
• Provide support for office business functions.
