Job summary

Families First is seeking a Part-time Program Assistant, Alumni to provide flexible support across alumni events, parent committees, and community projects. You will build relationships with parents, assist with communications, scheduling, and on-site event support in Greater Boston and Western MA.

The role is 10 hours per week, non-exempt, with occasional evenings, weekends, and travel. The starting pay is $25 per hour, with reimbursement for eligible travel.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience working with parents, families, or community members.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Organized, dependable, and able to follow through independently.
• Comfortable communicating by phone, text, email, and in person.
• Willing to travel to Greater Boston and Western MA as needed.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with parents, parent leaders, and program participants by phone, text, email, and in person.
• Make welcome, reminder, and follow-up calls and respond to questions.
• Support meetings, trainings, workshops, Parent Cafés, community events, and engagement activities.
• Assist with scheduling, registration, reminders, attendance, materials, supplies, and follow-up.
• Provide on-site support at events and meetings, including setup and breakdown.
• Support Parent Representative Committee, Parent Ambassadors, and other parent leadership activities.
• Connect parents with Families First programs, staff, and community resources and follow up as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and track participation and follow-up items.
• Co-facilitate meetings and parent engagement activities.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
