Job summary

Mrs. Gerry’s Kitchen, LLC in Albert Lea, MN is hiring a 1st Shift Bilingual Team Lead (English/Spanish) to back up the Production Supervisor and oversee daily line operations. You will ensure HACCP adherence, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

This on-site, full-time, non-exempt role requires bilingual skills, a 2-year technical certificate with supervisory experience, and the ability to read production readouts. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish with intermediate to native proficiency.
• Two-year certificate in a technical field with five years supervisory experience (or equivalent).
• Safety-conscious with attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret computer displays/readouts.

Responsibilities

• Back up Production Supervisor and oversee daily line operations.
• Follow HACCP, SOPs, SQF, and food safety procedures.
• Maintain plant cleanliness per HACCP guidelines.
• Assist in production to keep lines running smoothly and meet quality targets.
• Enforce safety policies and procedures.
• Support, make, and implement management decisions.
• Resolve problems and drive continuous improvement.
• Communicate results to team members about production standards and yields.
• Evaluate personnel and manage overtime requirements.
• Train employees in English and Spanish and retrain as needed.

Will be working with and setting up equipment while performing cooking and processing of vegetables.

What You’ll Do

As our 1 st Shift Bilingual Team Lead (English/Spanish), you’ll:

• Serve as a primary back up for the Production Supervisor.
• Know and follow HACCP, SOPs and SQF programs.
• Know and follow all Food Safety procedures.
• Monitor cleanliness within the plant as required by HACCP.
• Assist in production activities to help insure it is running smoothly, and quality is being met.
• Watch and enforce safety policies and procedures.
• Support, make, and implement management decisions.
• Resolve problems and drive continuous improvement. Promote a positive work environment.
• Responsible for the compliance to production standards and product yields. Communication of results to team members.
• Evaluation of personnel.
• Management of overtime requirements.
• Evaluate, support, and ensure proper training of employees in both English/Spanish. Retrain when necessary.

What You Bring to the Table

• Bilingual in both Spanish/English with the ability to speak, read and write in both languages at an intermediate to native level.
• Two-year certificate from college or, other related technical field with five years of supervisory experience in an operations environment and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Safety conscious
• Must have good recording skills and a sense for detail.
• Familiar with or able to learn computer displays and readouts.
• Must have or be able to obtain a forklift and pallet jack license.
• When processing lines are not running will be doing various miscellaneous jobs on the lines.
• Ability to apply common reasoning and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Capable of working through problem solving situations for the betterment of the situation.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
