Job summary

Mrs. Gerry's Kitchen, LLC is hiring for 1st Shift Batching Prep in Albert Lea, MN. This full-time role starts at 6:00 AM with Monday–Friday shifts and overtime possibilities as needed.

The position involves preparing ingredients, ensuring quality, and supporting inventory and production workflows. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, basic math skills, and the ability to read English safety documentation. Forklift license eligibility is required or can be obtained.

Qualifications

• Safety conscious and follow all safety policies.
• Read and understand English safety rules and manuals.
• Ability to perform basic math for ingredients and units of measure.
• Forklift and/or pallet jack license is required or obtainable.

Responsibilities

• Learn and follow MGK HACCP, SQF, SOP, and SSOP programs.
• Follow all Food Safety procedures.
• Wear required PPE at all times.
• Read and follow recipe to gather ingredients in specified amounts.
• Prepare, measure, and weigh ingredients for recipes and stations.
• Verify ingredient quality and report concerns.
• Track and record lot numbers on tracking sheets.
• Support inventory tracking efforts.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Batching Prep will be responsible for preparing ingredients to be used in various recipes.

Schedule: Monday-Fridays; Start time is 6:00 AM year-round, with a varying end time. Occasionally changes to work schedule may occur due to production or training needs.

What You'll Do

• Learn and follow MGK HACCP, SQF, SOP, and SSOP programs.
• Learn and follow all Food Safety procedures.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment.
• Read and follow recipe to gather all required ingredients in specified amounts.
• Prepare, measure, and weigh ingredients for assigned recipe and station.
• Verify ingredient quality and notify assigned Supervisor and Quality Control if there are quality questions and/or concerns.
• Track and record all lot numbers on tracking sheets.
• Support inventory tracking efforts.
• Additional duties as assigned.

What You Bring to the Table

• Safety conscious
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), 1-3 months of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
• Ability to read and comprehend documentation in English including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Utilize calculators to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to obtain forklift and/or pallet jack license.
• Ability to lift and/or carry occasionally up to 40 pounds.
