Job summary

Mrs. Gerry's Kitchen, LLC in Albert Lea, MN is seeking a 1st Shift Machine Operator to support our operations in a fast-paced food manufacturing facility. You will operate assigned equipment, ensure products meet our quality and safety standards, and support a collaborative production team.

The role starts at 6:00 AM, Monday through Friday, with a wage of $20.50 per hour. On-site work, with opportunities to learn HACCP/SQF procedures and advance within the department.

Qualifications

• Must read and comprehend documentation in English including safety rules and manuals.
• Ability to obtain forklift/pallet jack license.
• Lift and carry up to 40 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Learn and follow all MGK HACCP, SQF, SOP, and SSOP programs.
• Comply with all Food Safety procedures.
• Wear all required PPE.
• Set up, sanitize, wash down, and breakdown machinery.

About the Role

1 st Shift Machine Operator 1 will be responsible for understanding and operating assigned equipment located on the South side of the plant. They will ensure products are packaged to Mrs. Gerry’s quality and safety standards.

What You'll Do

• Learn and follow all MGK HACCP, SQF, SOP, and SSOP programs.
• Always Comply with all Food Safety procedures.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Set up, sanitize, wash down, and break down machinery per standard operating procedures.
• Ensure all lids, containers and box labels represent the product being filled.
• Ensure weight of each container of salad per product specification.
• Verify all dates and product names on product and boxes.
• Utilize and adjust metal detectors.
• Box and palletize products.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), 1-3 months of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend documentation in English including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Utilize calculators to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to obtain forklift and/or pallet jack license.
• Ability to lift and/or carry occasionally up to 40 pounds.

Who You'll Work With

You'll be part of a collaborative operations team focused on producing safe, high-quality products. You'll report to the Day Supervisor and work closely with Team Leaders and cross-functional departments to keep production running efficiently.

This position is based in a food manufacturing facility where employees may be exposed to wet or humid conditions, moving machinery, cleaning chemicals, airborne particles, varying temperatures, and moderate noise levels. PPE is required in all production areas.
