Job summary

Centro de la Familia is seeking a Preschool Teacher Extraordinary to guide a warm, inclusive classroom for multilingual preschoolers. Under supervision, you will implement Head Start-aligned activities that nurture cognitive, social-emotional, and language development.

You will support dual-language learners and collaborate with families to ensure active involvement in each child’s learning journey, while maintaining records and participating in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• 2 years of early childhood education experience (preferred).
• Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (required).
• CPR, First Aid, and Food Handler permits must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm, welcoming classroom environment for preschool children.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with Head Start standards.
• Incorporate play-based learning to foster curiosity and early literacy and numeracy skills.
• Support dual-language learners and adapt instruction for limited English proficiency.
• Attend to daily care tasks with compassion and promote healthy hygiene habits.
• Observe and assess progress, documenting attendance and development milestones.
• Engage families through regular communication and conferences; build partnerships.
• Collaborate with team to ensure inclusive practices for children with special needs.
• Maintain accurate records and participate in ongoing professional development.
