Job summary

Centro de la Familia seeks a Family Services Specialist to lead family partnership activities within our Head Start program. You will foster strong family relationships, support learning at home and in the community, and collaborate with center staff to promote children's school readiness.

Under the center manager’s guidance, you’ll implement PFCE, develop respectful family partnerships, and adapt to diverse language and cultural needs while working nine months a year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field is required or strongly preferred.
• Willingness to obtain a Family Development Credential within 12 months of hire.
• Bilingual Spanish-English is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage family partnerships in the center following Head Start Act and standards.
• Implement PFCE framework to strengthen family relationships and ongoing learning.
• Develop mutually respectful family partnership agreements to support family well-being.
• Respect diverse culture, language, values, and family structures of each family.
• Support families' learning in safety, health, mental health, finances, and education/career goals.
• Guide teachers to help families observe, support, and participate in children's learning at home and in the community.
• Willing to work 9 months a year.
