Job summary

Centro de la Familia seeks a Preschool Teacher to spark curiosity and support bilingual development in English and Spanish. You will implement a developmentally appropriate program aligned with Head Start standards and collaborate with families to foster a nurturing learning community.

You’ll plan engaging, play-based activities, assess progress, maintain records, and support children with different needs in an inclusive classroom, ensuring a warm, safe environment for every learner.

Qualifications

• Experience: Early childhood education — 2 years (Preferred).
• Education: AAS or AA in ECE/Child Development or related field (Required).
• Skills: CPR, First Aid, and Food Handler’s permit within six months. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
• Must be able to work with children with special needs.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with Head Start standards.
• Incorporate play-based learning and hands-on activities.
• Support dual-language learners by integrating English and Spanish.
• Attend to daily care needs with compassion and safety.
• Observe and assess children’s progress to tailor learning experiences.
• Collaborate with families through regular communication and conferences.
• Maintain accurate records on attendance, assessments, and health/safety protocols.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and teamwork.
