Job summary

AICA Orthopedics is seeking a Registered Nurse/LPN for PreOp/PACU services at our Buckhead surgery center. This PRN role requires one day per week (Tuesday 6AM-3PM) to support perioperative patient management before and after procedures.

Qualified candidates hold an ADN or BSN, Georgia RN license, ACLS and BLS, and have perioperative nursing experience. Spanish language skills are a plus; compensation includes benefits and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).
• Current active Registered Nurse license in Georgia.
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
• Current BLS/CPR (Basic Life Support) certification.
• 2+ years of perioperative nursing experience (PreOp, PACU, OR, GI lab, or pain management procedures).
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail and clinical accuracy.
• Strong critical thinking skills with ability to recognize and respond to emergent situations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to educate patients and families effectively.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Preoperative Patient Management: conduct comprehensive preoperative assessments, verify identity and consent, perform preop testing, educate patients and families, communicate findings to surgeons and anesthesia providers.
• Post-Anesthesia Care Unit Operations: monitor recovery, manage pain and nausea, respond to complications, ensure discharge criteria, conduct post-discharge follow-up.
• Clinical Excellence & Documentation: maintain EMR documentation, HIPAA compliance, stay updated on perioperative practices, stock perioperative areas, serve as Alternate Director of Nursing.
