The role serves as the primary liaison between internal teams and external partners such as steamship lines, customs brokers, port authorities, and terminal operators, while directing staff, improving efficiency, and controlling costs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in SCM, Maritime Operations, or related field preferred.
  • Must speak Spanish.
  • 2-5+ years of port operations/terminal management experience.
  • Experience managing union and non-union labor preferred.
  • Familiarity with port management software.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. customs and international freight forwarding.

Responsibilities

  • Direct staff, improve efficiency, and control costs across port operations.
  • Supervise container planning, loading/unloading, and vehicle handling.
  • Coordinate with steamship lines, customs brokers, port authorities, and vendors.
  • Ensure OSHA compliance and safety protocols at port facilities.
  • Track KPIs, inventory, and cargo movement with accuracy.
  • Report performance metrics to senior leadership.
