Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) in Mesa, AZ to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, respond to adverse events, review lab results, and notify donors of unsuitable tests.

The role reports to the Center Manager and works under the Center Physician for medical issues, with responsibilities including donor safety and adherence to regulatory guidance.

Qualifications

• Current Nursing license in the responsible state (RN/NP/PA).
• CPR and AED certification current.
• FDA training required for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years of clinical/hospital experience.
• Basic IV therapy requirements per state.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education and self-exclusion, medical history interview, and evaluation per acceptance requirements.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs and Center Physician orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance and reference if needed.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations.
