Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations in Mesa, AZ. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review lab results and notify donors of unsuitable tests.

Reporting to the Center Manager, you will work under the Center Physician for medical issues, follow SOPs, and participate in EHS programs while ensuring high standards of patient care and donor safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and nursing program graduate.
• Currently licensed or certified EMT-Paramedic in the responsible state.
• CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history interview, physical exam and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reaction(s) per SOPs and arrange emergency care as needed.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance and escalation.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS.
