Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations in San Antonio, TX. You will assess donor eligibility, review test results, and assist under the Center Manager and Center Physician.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, including nursing program prerequisites.
• Current EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P, LPN/LVN, or RN license/certification in the state.
• CPR and AED certification current.
• FDA training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist completed.
• Two years of clinical or hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility; include informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing SPE.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs, including center physician standing orders and donor transport to care facilities.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and refer to EHS guidance.

Education
