Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in San Antonio, TX is hiring a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations. You determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review lab results, and notify donors of unsuitable results under the Center Manager and Center Physician guidance.

The role requires clinical licensure (EMT/ RN/LPN) with CPR/AED, state licensing, FDA training, and at least two years in a clinical setting; IV therapy qualification is required where applicable.

Qualifications

• State-licensed or certified to practice in the assigning state (EMT/RN/LPN).
• Completion of FDA approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
• Minimum two years of clinical or hospital experience.
• Basic IV therapy qualifications as per state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical/guidance issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations.
