Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of pharmacy assistant, office, administrative, patient care or customer service experience.
• Pharmacy Assistant state registration required within 60 days of hire (or active Pharmacy Intern License).
• Bilingual English/Spanish required at a high level.
• Effective verbal and listening communication with a customer orientation.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to perform administrative tasks (phones, filing, faxing, scanning).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; basic pharmacy software knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers phone inquiries and transfers to appropriate staff.
• Enters patient data and billing information in the system.
• Delivers prescriptions and collects payment and signature.
• Coordinates prescription counseling with Pharmacist as needed.
• Maintains stock levels and places restocking orders.
• Verifies orders and applies stock labeling and shelving.
• Checks expiration dates on drugs in stock.
• Processes prescription refills and prior authorizations as allowed by state regulations.
• Performs duties aligned with TJC, HRSA, and YVFWC requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
