Family Medical Center in Walla Walla, WA is hiring a Relief Pharmacy Assistant. The role supports patient access to medications through clerical, customer service and medication support tasks to ensure timely, safe pharmacy services.

The position requires a high school diploma, 1 year of related experience, and state registration within 60 days. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus; on-site work with potential for bilingual pay. Drug screen pre-employment is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year of pharmacy assistant, office, administrative, patient care or customer service experience.
• Pharmacy Assistant state registration required within 60 days of hire (or active Pharmacy Intern License).
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred at a level 9.

Responsibilities

• Answers the phone and transfers calls to appropriate staff.
• Enters patient data and billing information in the system.
• Delivers prescriptions to patients and collects payment and signature.
• Coordinates prescription counseling with the Pharmacist as needed.
• Maintains stock levels and places restocking orders.
• Verifies orders against invoices and labels items for shelves.
• Monitors expiration dates and handles returns or reverse billing as allowed by state regulations.
• Processes prescription refills.
• Completes third party billing forms and requests prior authorization as allowed by state regulations.
• Performs clinical responsibilities in alignment with TJC/HRSA/YVFWC requirements.
