Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Registration as Surgical Technologist if assisting Dentist in OR.
• Registered Dental Assistant or EFDA certification.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) required at level 10.
• Bilingual Differential Compensation available with ALTA score 10.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, materials, infection control.
• Ability for four-handed dental assisting with instrument transfer, evacuation, mixing.
• Strong manual dexterity and coordination.
• Professional interaction with patients of all ages.
• Proficiency with EDR (Electronic Dental Record) and MS Office

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient records and update medical history and vital signs.
• Conduct complete X-ray procedures and store radiographs in the EDR.
• Set up and record periodontal charting per Provider instructions.
• Prepare instruments and materials for patient exams.
• Mix materials with infection-control practices in mind.
• Perform preventative periodontal care (polish, fluoride, sealants).
• Assist with nitrous oxide analgesia under supervision.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and clinic programs.
• Support infection-control program, sterilization, and autoclave maintenance.
• Assist in orthodontics activities as needed.
• Perform duties aligned with TJC and HRSA requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
