Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Pharmacy Assistant registration within 60 days of hire (or active Pharmacy Intern License).
• Effective verbal and listening communication, customer-oriented approach.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and clerical responsibilities.
• Ability to use phones, filing, scanning and copying in a fast-paced team setting.
• Basic proficiency with computer systems including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Answers the phone and routes inquiries to appropriate staff.
• Enters patient data and billing information in the system.
• Delivers prescriptions to patients and collects payments.
• Coordinates prescription counseling with the Pharmacist as needed.
• Monitors stock levels and places restocking orders.
• Verifies orders against invoices and labels items for shelving.
• Checks expiration dates and manages returns to stock.
• Processes prescription refills and prior authorizations as allowed.
