Job summary

Turning Point of Central California seeks a Peer Support Specialist to advocate for clients in office outpatient settings and support their recovery process. You will provide information, peer support, and life skills while maintaining client confidentiality and assisting with intake documentation in the EHR.

You will work with a team to help clients achieve goals, participate in outreach, and respond quickly in emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 1 year in community mental health preferred.
• Current or former recipient of client services or lived experience related to mental health preferred.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; strong English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with needs of program staff and clients to provide quality services.
• Maintain confidentiality of consumer information.
• Log referrals and enter into EHR; schedule intake assessments.
• Provide peer support and life/coping skills to clients.
• Support clients in group settings and adhere to program guidelines.
• Communicate with agencies involved in rehabilitation of clients.
• Drive on agency business and participate in outreach events.
