Job summary

Haydon Companies is seeking a Bilingual Payroll Specialist to ensure weekly payroll accuracy and timeliness. You will maintain payroll records, manage deductions, and prepare management reports as part of a structured payroll cycle.

You should be process-oriented, detail-driven, and comfortable working autonomously. Ideal candidates are bilingual in English and Spanish, possess a high school diploma with payroll experience, and can handle basic accounting.

Qualifications

• Bilingual English/Spanish speaking.
• High School Diploma plus two years payroll experience or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and payroll practices.
• Experience with payroll processing.

Responsibilities

• Update Payroll Log, clarify questions.
• Familiarize yourself with the taxation of salaries, benefits, and other factors.
• Troubleshoot or audit discrepancies and provide analysis.
• Maintain and document all payroll records.
• Answer employee questions via email, phone, or in person.
• Process, respond to, and track all garnishments to ensure on-time compliance.
• Conduct semi-annual audits of payroll records.
• Assist with quarterly and annual tax filings.
• Reconcile general ledger with payroll transactions.
• Detect and process issues related to uncollected payroll.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues or concerns.
• Build relationships with supervisors.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow policies and procedures.
• Assist in the development and update of SOPs and training materials.
• 10% travel as needed to local construction sites.
• Perform other duties or special projects.
