Job summary

Texas Health Action is hiring a Bilingual Patient Support Center Representative in the Austin metro area to handle inbound and outbound calls, schedule appointments, and document patient interactions. The role supports the call center and may assist with in-clinic front desk duties, requiring travel to clinics as needed.

The ideal candidate is bilingual in English and Spanish, with at least 1 year of medical or call center experience, familiarity with HIPAA, and strong computer skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• 1 year experience in a medical setting and/or call center experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures and diagnosis.
• Knowledge of computer and relevant software applications.
• Knowledge of general administrative and clerical procedures.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Answer patient, vendor, insurer, and facility calls.
• Schedule and reschedule patient appointments per guidelines.
• Register patients in the electronic health record per established protocols.
• Set expectations to patients regarding the visit.
• Maintain patient records with minimal errors.
• Provide patient-centered, HIPAA-compliant service and protect privacy.
• Support call center operations and assist with front desk in clinics as needed.
• Travel to clinics to provide reception coverage and assist with duties as required.
