Texas Health Action is seeking a Bilingual Medical Receptionist to welcome patients, verify insurance, schedule appointments, and manage front-office tasks across our Austin locations. You will handle check-ins, patient records, and payments while ensuring HIPAA privacy and a welcoming environment for diverse patients.

Applicants should be fluent in English and Spanish, with strong communication skills and experience with medical terminology.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and diagnoses.
Fluency in English and Spanish is essential.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to protect confidential information and follow HIPAA privacy requirements.

Responsibilities

Greet patients and respond to inquiries professionally and with cultural sensitivity.
Register patients and verify demographic, billing, and insurance information.
Explain office procedures and schedule appointments.
Schedule and coordinate patient visits and maintain related documentation.
Verify insurance benefits and determine patient financial responsibility.
Balance daily payments and complete financial reconciliation.
Direct patients to Financial Advocates when appropriate and document actions.
