Job summary

HealthFirst Bluegrass is seeking a Registration Specialist to provide administrative and clinical support across school-based clinics and community health programs. You will greet patients, verify insurance, schedule appointments, and help with billing while maintaining a welcoming environment.

The role requires strong communication and computer skills, knowledge of medical office operations, and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (or GED) and 1 year of clerical or clinical experience, or equivalent training/experience.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and computer skills.
• Knowledge of medical office operations and patient confidentiality.
• Flexibility to work in multiple clinic locations.
• Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients/clients and route messages.
• Schedule, verify, and confirm appointments, with reminders.
• Verify insurance and determine eligibility.
• Register patients and handle billing and daily transactions.
• Maintain patient health records in the EMR.
• Support outreach and coordinate with schools' staff.
• Assist with first aid, vaccine storage, and referrals.
• Record vitals when nursing staff is unavailable.
• Translate for providers when bilingual.
