Job summary

Conifer Health is seeking a Financial Services Clerk at Abrazo Central to screen self-pay patients for government and non-government programs, and guide them through eligibility and benefits applications. You will identify payors, document activities, and support the Financial Assistance process in a hospital setting.

The role requires strong communication, PC literacy, and the ability to work with patients and hospital staff.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Social Services, Hospital Admitting, or related area.
• Bi-lingual preferred (Spanish).
• Proficient in Windows, Outlook, Excel and Word; PC-literate.

Responsibilities

• Screen self-pay patients at hospital bedside for program eligibility.
• Identify all potential payors and route accounts in Patient Accounting.
• Obtain and complete Confidential Financial Statement form; assist with applying for benefits.
• Conduct patient or family interviews and document activities.
• Perform financial clearance including collections and determine eligibility for programs.
• Follow up on government applications and coordinate with case management and admissions.
