Position Overview

The Bilingual Patient Billing Representative will serve as a primary point of contact for patients contacting PsychPlus with billing-related questions. This role is responsible for responding to incoming phone calls, voicemails, and emails, assisting patients with account inquiries, and communicating billing information clearly in both English and Spanish.

The ideal candidate is customer-focused, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling sensitive patient information in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to patient inquiries regarding billing, account balances, statements, and payment-related questions by phone, voicemail, and email.
• Communicate effectively with English- and Spanish-speaking patients to explain billing information and help resolve concerns.
• Return voicemails and follow up on outstanding patient billing inquiries in a timely manner.
• Review patient account information and document all communications and actions accurately in the appropriate systems.
• Route complex billing issues, insurance questions, and account discrepancies to the appropriate internal teams.
• Coordinate with billing, patient services, and other departments to support timely resolution of patient concerns.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and applicable privacy requirements.
• Provide courteous, empathetic, and professional service while handling sensitive financial and healthcare-related information.
• Meet established standards for response times, accuracy, documentation, and patient service quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or healthcare administration training is a plus.
• Previous experience in patient billing, medical billing, healthcare customer service, call center support, or a related administrative role preferred.
• Fluency in both English and Spanish is required, including the ability to communicate clearly with patients about billing inquiries.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages.

• Comfortable using email, phone systems, spreadsheets, and customer relationship or billing software.

• Familiarity with insurance terminology, patient statements, payment processing, and account follow-up.
