Job summary

Heluna Health in Los Angeles County's Ambulatory Care Network seeks a Patient Access Center associate to handle inbound calls, verify demographics, and schedule appointments across ACN clinics using the EHR system.

You will deliver high-quality customer service, provide language assistance when needed, adhere to HIPAA and scheduling guidelines, and help ensure patients are visit-ready by following standardized workflows and policies.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Experience using multiple software platforms.
• Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Answers phones.
• Follows appointment-making processes and procedures per policy.
• Completes accurate patient scheduling by following detailed algorithms.
• Ensures accurate verification of patient demographic information and payor source coverage details.
• Identifies discrepancies in coverage or empanelment and appropriately refers cases for processing.
• Determines which appointments meet the patient’s needs and schedules/confirms accordingly.
• Sends messages using EHR platform and/or transfers callers to appropriate departments.
• Enters scheduling notes and relevant information when needed.
• Provides general information to patients and public.
